Creations & Export
The Canvas, also referred to as Creations, is a feature that lets the AI generate and edit documents alongside your conversation. Instead of receiving content inline in the chat, the AI produces structured output in a dedicated editor where you can review, refine, and export it.
Creating Documents with AI Assistance
To use the canvas, start a chat in Canvas or Creation mode. When you send a prompt, the AI generates content in the canvas panel rather than as a regular chat message. You can ask the AI to write reports, articles, emails, proposals, code, or any other structured text.
The canvas opens alongside the chat, giving you a split view where you can continue the conversation on one side and see the generated document on the other.
Editing and Refining Content
Once the AI produces a document in the canvas, you can:
- Edit directly — Click into the canvas and make manual changes to the text.
- Request revisions — Send follow-up messages in the chat asking the AI to modify specific sections, adjust the tone, expand on a topic, or restructure the document.
The AI updates the canvas content based on your instructions, allowing you to iterate until the document meets your requirements.
Version History and Tracking
The canvas maintains a version history of your document. As the AI makes changes or you request revisions, previous versions are preserved. You can review earlier versions to see how the document evolved or revert to a previous state if needed.
Preview and Fullscreen Mode
Use Preview mode to see how the document will look in its final form, without editing controls. Fullscreen mode expands the canvas to fill the entire screen, giving you more space to review longer documents without distraction.
Export Options
When your document is ready, you can export it in several formats:
- PDF — Export as a PDF document, suitable for sharing, printing, or archiving.
- Word (DOCX) — Export as a Microsoft Word document for further editing in Word or other office applications.
- HTML — Export as an HTML file for use in web pages or email.
- Plain Text — Export as a plain text file with no formatting.
Select the desired format from the export menu in the canvas toolbar. The file will be downloaded to your device.
